Proposed cess on import of APIs stokes supply disruption fears

"Cess not more than 1% may be imposed on imported APIs," a senior
government official said. The DoP had formed a committee earlier this
month as traders started to raise prices of some bulk drugs for
pharmaceutical companies amid the prolonged shutdown in China.
